Water scarcity, various diseases, hardships of life . . . there are neighbors in the global village who are suffering from these kinds of difficulties. The Intl. WeLoveU Foundation is helping people who are constantly suffering from thirst because there is no adequate water pumping equipment, children who have endured various surgeries for rare and incurable diseases, and our neighbors in island countries who are at risk of losing their land due to global warming.

36.5°C of Love Delivered to Neighbors Suffering From Water Shortages and Other Difficulties

On November 28, 2012, the 13th New Life Concert was held at the Seoul Student Gymnasium. The New Life Concert is a WeLoveU annual event that started in 2000. It aims to enlighten people to the preciousness of life and to practice love for their neighbors. This year, it was held to support low-income children, children with rare incurable diseases, and overseas countries suffering from water scarcity.

The 13th concert, sponsored by Seoul Metropolitan Government and Sejong General Hospital, was attended by Honorary Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah and directors and Sponsor Chairman Lee Soon-jae from the WeLoveU, President of Korea Child Abuse Prevention Association Lee Bae-geun, as well as the Head of the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency Korea Harry A.C. van Woerden, and diplomatic missions to Korea. About 8,000 members and participants filled the concert hall.

Honorary Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah explained the purpose of the event through her opening speech, saying, “Today’s New Life Concert was prepared to encourage and care for our underprivileged neighbors and give hope and courage to victims of climate change,” and expressed her gratitude to everybody at the concert. Sponsor Chairman Lee Soon-jae, who put his busy schedule as an actor on hold and attended the event, gave a congratulatory speech, saying, “I attend the WeLoveU’s events, hoping to be of a little help, but every time I come, I myself am moved.” President of Korea Child Abuse Prevention Association Lee Bae-geun also took to the podium and appreciated the WeLoveU’s activities for “wiping away the tears of many children suffering from poverty and diseases and opening a waterway of life and love to the whole world.”

Embracing Water Scarcity, Pain of Disease, and Hardships of Life

The WeLoveU promised to support Tonga, Kiribati, and Gabon with water tanks, water purifiers, and water pumps through this year’s concert. Honorary Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah delivered the POP which promises the donations, and gave gifts along with living expenses and medical expenses to 22 low-income children and teenagers in Seoul and eight children with rare and incurable diseases.

The concert began in full swing with the New Life Children’s Choir’s performance which put smiles on the faces of the audience with their pure voices and cute dance moves. It was followed by various performances by singers Lee Seung-hoon, Baek Mi-hyeon, Kim Heung-guk, Yun Tae-gyu, Han Hye-jin, and Jeong Su-ra. The audience had a joyful time, swaying to the sweet melodies and groovin’ to the upbeat rhythms. Families who came with the beneficiaries were also comforted and moved. A parent of a child with a rare and incurable disease said, “I was grateful for the support of many people. I hope that our child will grow up healthy and be able to think of others and help them as well.”

The Nepali Consul to Korea Raja Ram Bartaula said, “It was a very impressive and moving concert. It is an amazing work to share the love of a mother as a member of this one family living on the planet Earth. I hope you will continue to share this great love.”

365 Days With 36.5°C of Love

“You are probably well aware of the story of how God created people with the dust of the ground. When God clothed the cold dust of the ground with 36.5°C love, humans came to have life. This is the human being the Creator made. God also appointed one year to be 365 days for living beings’ livelihood. 365 days at 36.5°C are the responses of life and love under the Creator’s invisible providence. This is the will of heaven to live with 36.5°C love for 365 days.” Honorary Chairwoman of the Intl. WeLoveU Foundation Zahng Gil-jah

Just as Honorary Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah said, the members conveyed love from their heart of 36.5°C to the global village family through this day’s concert. Neighbors living in the blind spots of welfare, shedding tears due to their hardships and sufferings that no one knows of, neighbors suffering from water scarcity and climate changes . . . The WeLoveU’s volunteer service to embrace our neighbors with a mother’s love will continue without rest 365 days.
