
The Intl. WeLoveU Foundation led by Honorary Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah held the 9th New Life Concert on November 9, 2008 at Jamsil Student Gymnasium in Seoul. Honorary Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah, Chief Director Lee Kang-min, and Sponsor Chairman Lee Soon-jae from the WeLoveU, Chief Director of Korea Youth Service Center Lee Bae-geun, and many other distinguished guests from different fields such as the Information Officer of the French Embassy in Korea Lydie Bertrand, and the Head of the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency in Korea Harry A.C. van Woerden attended the concert. Ten thousand people, including WeLoveU members and residents, also attended this event to share love.


Honorary Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah Delivers a Message of Love to Neighbors in Need
Honorary Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah expressed her thanks to the WeLoveU members who had been sharing love with their neighbors in need despite the economic recession. She also encouraged the beneficiaries who remained hopeful despite their hardships. After the Honorary Chairwoman’s opening speech, congratulatory messages were delivered from the guests, including WeLoveU Sponsor Chairman Lee Soon-jae. The guests offered words of hope and comfort to the families in need, expressing their appreciation for the efforts of the WeLoveU to deliver the warm love of a mother to the whole world.


At the donation ceremony, Honorary Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah delivered gifts of love to 32 families in need: children suffering from heart disease, leukemia, and other incurable diseases; multicultural families in need; children living with their grandparent(s); and children living in single-parent households. The audience gave a big round of applause, hoping the families would have a warm winter without losing hope.

Healing Wounds and Worries With Love
At the second part, the concert, singers Yun Tae-gyu, Baek Mi-hyeon, Lee Seung-hoon, Eom Tae-gyeong, and Sunflower delivered passionate performances. Special guests, students from Seoul Foreign School, presented an adorable performance. The audience encouraged the performers by vigorously cheering and waving their flashlights.


The singers who participated in the concert despite their busy schedules expressed their excitement for being able to share love with neighbors as a united effort. Singer Yun Tae-gyu waved at the audience who filled even the hallways, saying, “I get all teary-eyed whenever I sing at this concert. It is because I feel your warm love.” Singer Lee Seung-hun presented a touching performance, saying, “I am happy that these songs are able to encourage our neighbors.”
All the beneficiaries enjoyed the performances with big smiles on their faces, healing the wounds of their bodies and hearts. One of the beneficiaries said, “Until now I’ve only received help, but from now on I would like to join the work of helping others.”

Everyone had bright smiles like angels during the concert. Honorary Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah and the Intl. WeLoveU Foundation have been making efforts to help our neighbors in need such as children with heart disease and other incurable diseases and child/adolescent-headed households. The Foundation will continue to assist underprivileged people, extending a helping hand to them.
