The 8th New Life Concert to give hope to children with incurable diseases was held on November 25, 2007 at the Teleconvention Center of Kyonggi University in Suwon Campus. The New Life Concert is an annual welfare event held by the Intl. WeLoveU Foundation to deliver surgery and treatment costs to children with heart disease and rare incurable diseases.

Donation of Love to Children With Incurable Diseases

The New Life Concert 2007 was held with the purpose of helping children with heart diseases or incurable diseases, low-income and underprivileged groups. About 2,000 members and public figures from all walks of life, including Honorary Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah and the directors and Sponsor Chairman Lee Soon-jae from the WeLoveU, Governor of Gyeonggi Province Kim Mun-su, Mayor of Suwon City Kim Yong-seo, and Chief Director of Sejong General Hospital Park Yeong-gwan, gathered together at this concert. The sponsors, Korea Ministry of Health and welfare, National Youth Committee, Korea Youth Counseling Institute, Sejong General Hospital, and Kyonggi University were also present.

In her opening address, Honorary Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah explained the reason for the name change from the New Life Welfare Foundation to the Intl. WeLoveU Foundation, was “to become closer to all people in the global village and show more love to them, so that everyone can live a happy life together.” WeLoveU Sponsor Chairman Lee Soon-jae expressed his respect for the members for their devoted spirit of service and practice of love for their neighbors, and asked them to help those in need with an unchanging heart since they took a step forward as the Intl. WeLoveU Foundation. Provincial Governor Kim Mun-su and Director of Korea Youth Counseling Center Lee Bae-geun gave congratulatory remarks wishing for the infinite growth of the WeLoveU Foundation, and hoping that the love of its members would go beyond borders and illuminate the dark and difficult places on the earth.

At the donation delivery ceremony, medical and living expenses were conveyed to 34 people, including children with rare and incurable diseases and heart disease in Korea and overseas as well as adolescent-headed households, injured foreign workers, and many others. Honorary Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah conveyed the donations to the beneficiaries along with warm words of consolation. As the warmheartedness of the members was conveyed to the beneficiaries, the audience applauded with the enthusiasm of sharing.

Songs of Hope for the Children With Incurable Diseases

After the donation delivery ceremony, the concert’s curtain was raised in the midst of the audience’s fervent cheers. Songs of hope from the performing singers, including actor Kim Seong-hwan, singers Insooni, Yun Tae-gyu, Lee Seung-hoon, Lee Kwang-jo, Baek Mi-hyun, singing duo Sunflower, and many others. The songs were followed by the WeLoveU members’ sweet and melodic songs and the New Life Children’s Choir’s cute performance.

Before leaving the stage, the singers did not forget to share heartwarming messages with the audience. The second part of the concert was filled with songs that give hope and share love such as “A Goose’s Dream,” “My Way,” “Land of Happiness,” “Like Anyone,” ‘With Love,” and many other songs. Everyone who attended the concert were moved by the singers’ consolation for the children with incurable diseases, and the earnest support of the volunteers.

Heartwarming and Happy New Life Concert

Singer Insooni gave her impression of joining the New Life Concert for the first time, saying, “It’s so heart-warming. I think we’re living thanks to people like you who are warm-hearted and give others love.” The families of the beneficiaries expressed their gratitude for the warm-hearted love from the WeLoveU, saying, “This is the first time receiving this kind of help,” and “We are so grateful that we can’t express it with words.” The members also sent messages of encouragement, saying, “I’m happy to have helped out our neighbors even a little bit and to convey our heartfelt love,” and “I hope you never lose hope but cheer up because you have many neighbors supporting you.”

On July 23, 2007, the New Life Welfare Foundation, which had grown along with the New Life Concert, was renamed the Intl. WeLoveU Foundation. As Honorary Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah stated, the WeLoveU plans to actively carry out activities that started in Korea such as child welfare projects such as helping children with incurable diseases, welfare for the elderly, and emergency relief, along with other volunteer activities.
