The Intl. WeLoveU Foundation, which has been carrying out various volunteer services to practice love for humankind, once again sang a song of love and hope. On December 15, 2013, the Intl. WeLoveU Foundation hosted the 14th New Life Concert at the Seoul Student Gymnasium. This event was attended by Honorary Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah, Sponsor Chairman Lee Soon-jae, foreign diplomatic delegations to Korea, and officials from all walks of life such as politics, economics, sports, culture, and the media. More than 6,000 participants, including the WeLoveU members, took part in this walkathon to share love.

Giving Hope to Those in Despair by Practicing Love for Humankind

Love for humankind is love for all people. The WeLoveU holds the New Life Concert every year which contains love for the neglected neighbors in the global community. In her opening speech, Honorary Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah expressed her gratitude to everyone who worked together to spread the love every year. She also explained that the purpose of this concert was to deliver hope to neighbors domestically and overseas, such as typhoon victims in the Philippines, climate refugees in Bangladesh, children suffering from heart disease, rare and incurable diseases, as well as multicultural families.

A wave of gratitude and support for the WeLoveU, which pursues love for humankind, followed. Sponsor Chairman Lee Soon-jae delivered a message of encouragement which also contained a New Year’s message to the members, saying, “Next year, let’s perform volunteer services with a deeper and greater love.” First Secretary of the Philippine Embassy in Korea Roderico C. Atienza mentioned the relationship between the Philippines and Korea, and expressed his gratitude to the members for their contribution to the recovery from the damages caused by the typhoon in his country. The foreign diplomats in Korea hoped to continue to practice love for humankind with the WeLoveU through consistent and practical activities.

A Heartwarming Music Venue United Through Love for Humankind

The curtain was raised and the concert began with the cute dance of New Life Children’s Choir. Then, veteran singers and new singers presented passionate performances, singing about love and hope, with which the audience responded with enthusiastic applause and cheer. The curtain came down on the concert, which lasted for two hours, as the audience and the performers sang the ‘We Love You Song’ together.

On this day, everyone was moved and became one in hope, and relief funds for the victims of typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines and climate refugees in Bangladesh were conveyed to each embassy. Donations and gifts were presented to 36 beneficiaries, including multicultural families suffering from economic difficulties and cultural differences, and children suffering from heart disease or rare and incurable diseases. The attendees, who engraved the love for humankind on their hearts, did not hold back but gave big rounds of applause of encouragement.

The audience expressed their impressions on the concert, saying, “It was good to be able to convey love and courage to our unfortunate neighbors, and it was also good to see them regain their smiles, which gave us inspiration and energy.” The families of the beneficiaries said, “It felt like a family as if we had come home,” and they also said, “We will work hard and live well. And just as we received love today, from now on we will live by helping our neighbors who are in even harder situations.”

Love That Creates a Miracle Is Together With the WeLoveU

“Unity and solidarity are the noble values of humankind. I’d like to express my respect to the Intl. WeLoveU Foundation for demonstrating strong solidarity by taking the lead in helping people in need. Today, this event brought us closer to feel the hardships of our neighbors in the global village, help lessen the sorrow of the sick, and practice love for humankind. It was a very impressive and amazing concert.” H.E. Mohamed Ali Nafti the Ambassador of Tunisia to Korea

Humans cannot solve everything with just strength, but love has the power to overcome any crisis. The more difficult the times, the greater the miracle. The WeLoveU will continue its efforts, without rest, to create a miracle of new hope with the love for humankind as its foundation.
