The members of the New Life Welfare Foundation created another beautiful memory by helping their neighbors. On October 22, 2006, the 7th New Life Concert was held at the square in front of the Bundang-gu office in Seongnam City to help children from parentless households and children suffering from heart disease. Despite the autumn rainfall, passionate performances were presented at the event. Around 30,000 members and residents attended the concert with a united heart to help the children in need.<\/p>\n

Volunteer Service to Take Care of Children Leading the Future<\/h2>\n

Children are the protagonists who will lead our future, and so caring for them properly is necessary to ensure that they can grow up to be healthy and upright members of society. Therefore, the services to protect the children with disabilities and the children who are not receiving suitable support and care due to their circumstances are very crucial. The New Life Welfare Foundation, which cares for the underprivileged with the love of a mother, carries out a variety of volunteer services for disadvantaged groups in all communities while also working for children\u2019s well-being.<\/p>\n

The members of the Foundation create beautiful memories through their sincere volunteer services such as visiting homes for children with disabilities. The Foundation has been working for children\u2019s well-being in various ways such as assisting with living expenses in order to support children raised by a single parent or by grandparents and helping children who suffer from heart disease and other incurable diseases. As the Foundation established a partnership with Sejong General Hospital, it can now provide better medical support to more children with heart disease.<\/p>\n

The 7th New Life Concert, which gave all participants beautiful memories, was sponsored by Korea Ministry of Health and Welfare, Seongnam Municipal Government, Commission on Youth Protection, Korea Child Abuse Prevention Association, Sejong General Hospital, Dong-a Ilbo, and Kyunghyang Shinmun. Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah and incumbent local government personnel such as Governor of Gyeonggi Province Kim Mun-su, Deputy Mayor of Seongnam City Choi Hong-cheol, and other public figures attended the outdoor concert. Foreign diplomats in Korea, Chief of Culture Division of Taipei Mission in Korea<\/a> Cheon Yeong-chwo, and Deputy Chief of Mission at the Gabonese Embassy Francis Ignanga also attended the concert to share the beautiful memory of helping neighbors in need.<\/p>\n

A Beautiful Memory Is Made on a Rainy Night<\/h2>\n

At the donation delivery ceremony, Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah said, \u201cI am happy that tonight\u2019s event was so beautiful and memorable. Sharing love with others while walking this difficult journey of life together will leave a meaningful and cherished memory forever in our brief lifespan.\u201d \nThe guests expressed their praise and respect for the New Life Welfare Foundation\u2019s work for children\u2019s well-being, which delivers love, hope, and courage to children.<\/p>\n

Governor of Gyeonggi Province Kim Mun-su said, \u201cI would like to thank everyone who has gathered here with a warm heart to help children despite the autumn rain.\u00a0Your heartwarming love will bring hope to everybody.\u201d \nMinister of Health and Welfare Yu Shi-min sent a congratulatory video message reminding the children in need to never lose hope because their neighbors are always with them.<\/p>\n

A Beautiful Memory Shares Hopes and Dreams of a New Life<\/h2>\n

The donations raised on this day were presented to six children suffering from heart disease, 12 children with cancer or other incurable diseases, ten teenagers from households without parents, and ten low-income households. \nKim Seong-hwan, PR Ambassador of the Foundation, began the main concert with a humorous monologue. Following the New Life Children Choir\u2019s performance, the whole cast including singers Yun Tae-gyu, Lee Seung-hoon, Baek Mi-hyeon, Kim Jo-han, and actor Park Cheol delivered hope and love to the beneficiary families through their touching performances.<\/p>\n

Approximately 30,000 attendees wearing raincoats did not leave their seats despite the sporadic rainfall.\nThe concert concluded with all the performers coming on the stage and singing \u201cWith Love\u201d together with the audience who responded cheerfully. Nearby residents enjoyed the concert, saying that it was really amazing and touching to see so many well-organized people sharing love with their neighbors despite the rain. The distinguished guests who stayed until the end of the concert said that it was such a joyful and wonderful time, making the night beautiful and memorable.<\/p>\n

One beneficiary family expressed their gratitude, saying, \u201cWe would like to thank all of you who attended this event to give hope to my son.\u00a0Even though he is ill, he is very eager for an education. You have helped him to get treatment so that he can do what he is passionate about. I will try my best to keep him healthy.\u201d \nJust like a timely rain giving life to the dry land, the warm love that was shared on this day gave the children in need hope for a bright future. The New Life Welfare Foundation will continue to work for children\u2019s well-being to support children who are in need all around the world, cheering for their hopes and dreams.<\/p>\n
